Today we had a lecture with Dr. Vassil Girginov on Olympic legacy and what it takes for host cities to successfully bring the World Cup or the Olympics to their shores. He was incredibly knowledgeable and made it clear that cities cannot simply want to host these events for the sake of prestige, but must have precise and well thought out reasons and plans for doing so. It was one of the lectures I found myself most engaged in, and it gave me a whole new perspective on the scale and responsibility that comes with hosting the world's largest sporting events.

From there we headed to Windsor Castle, which was absolutely beautiful, made even better by the gorgeous weather outside. Walking through the different rooms and taking in the stunning architecture was a humbling reminder of just how rich and layered British history truly is. We ended the day at Amchur, an Indian restaurant, where I had butter chicken paired with a variety of different rice dishes that were nothing short of amazing. It was a wonderful way to close out the week and another reminder of how food is one of the best ways to experience a new culture.
